Senator Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Lt General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum on Tuesday said Pakistan had achieved many successes in war against terrorism.
Pakistan had managed to clear areas from terrorists through operation Zarb-e-Azb and now it was the responsibility of the United States to eliminate terrorists from Afghanistan for establishing peace in the region, he said talking to a private news channel.
Peaceful Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan, he added.
Commenting on the recent tweet of US President, he said America was putting blame on Pakistan due to its own failure in Afghanistan.
To a question, he said Pakistan was a peace loving country and wanted to have good relations with all the countries.
He suggested that Americans should fulfill their responsibility and clear the areas from terrorists in Afghanistan.
The terrorists were using the soil of Afghanistan to attack on Pakistan, he said.
Replying to a question, he said the world should cooperate with Pakistan to send back Afghan refugees to their homeland.
Pakistan had started fencing to secure its border and the US should also take the steps in this regard, he said.
To another question regarding any misadventure, he said no one could dare to think about our country as Pakistan was a ‘nuclear power’.
He made it clear that Pakistan would not compromise on the role of India in this region.
He urged the world to take notice of Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and said the US should play role for resolving the issue of Kashmir.
