Syrian talks aiming to end the civil war have official started, UN Special Envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said on Monday following the first official meeting held with the Syrian opposition in Geneva.
"We have started Geneva talks officially (...) deliberations have kicked off," he told reporters.
He indicated that he would be meeting with the Syrian state governmental delegation tomorrow, before delving into deeper parleys later in the afternoon
