Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Tuesday had talks with Greek Foreign Minister Nokos Kotzias in Athens.
The visit is aimed at taking part in the second round of the International Conference on “Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Coexistence in the Middle East, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid in press statements.
The two sides took up means of upgrading joint cooperation in several domains, especially in fighting terrorism and illegal migration.
The two top diplomats also discussed a mechanism for the three-way cooperation including also Cyprus, added the spokesman.
Shoukry thanked, during the talks, the Greek side for its support for the Egyptian candidate to the UNESCO director-general post, added the spokesman.
