Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis Alaghinawa urged the international community to shoulder the responsibility concerning implementing the political deal between the Libyan factions that was signed in Skhirat city in December 2015.
In an interview with MENA, Alaghinawa also called on the international community to persuade all the Libyan factions to engage in dialogue and to support the national unity government in order to work on restoring security and stability in Libya.
He also exhorted the international community to provide humanitarian aid to Libya as well as organize training and rehabilitation programs for Libyan security, military and administrative institutions.
The minister pointed out that Tunisia is working on mobilizing international support to entrench Skhirat deal in order to support the political settlement path.
Tunisia is facing security threats due to instability in Libya, the minister said, adding that his country has taken a number of preventive and practical measures to support its security capabilities, especially at the borders.
Meanwhile, Alaghinawa said that achieving economic strategy among Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) countries is considered a strategic Tunisian goal that aims to achieve prosperity for all AMU peoples as well as helping in enhancing security and stability in the region.
