When U.K. politicians return to the stump Friday, they face the delicate task of selling themselves to British voters -- even as the country continues to mourn victims of the Manchester terror attack.
A general election campaign truce agreed by Prime Minister Theresa May and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn after Tuesday’s attack on a pop concert comes to an end Friday.
But politicians won’t go back to politics as usual -- at least not straight away.
Jonathan Reynolds, the Labour candidate for Stalybridge and Hyde in Greater Manchester, said that while campaigning has to happen, it feels ‘very strange'.
"Usually in an election, you are being upbeat and you are in that mindset of going door-to-door and convincing people," he added, "and all of that seems like quite a difficult thing to get your head around."
The attack in Manchester that killed 22 people has also changed the themes of the campaign
