UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Zeid bin Ra'ad met here today with Chairman of the Qatar National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri. The two sides discussed, during the meeting, mechanisms for implementing the recommendations of the International Conference on Human Rights Approaches to Conflict Situations in the Arab Region that was organized by the NHRC and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers and the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions in Doha from 20 to 21 February. 
The meeting also discussed a set of humanitarian issues affecting the region, and also discussed legislative development and legal reforms made by the State of Qatar on labor law. The High Commissioner for Human Rights thanked the NHRC for its leading roles at the local, regional and international levels, which significantly contribute to the prevention processes and conflict resolution in the region. 
The two sides stressed the need for continued cooperation between the two sides to protect and improve human rights.
