The USA's Vice President Joe Biden urged Iraqi leaders to solve their differences and to end the political impasse that occured only a few days after the withdrawal of the last US soldier from Iraqi soil last December.
A spokesperson on behalf of the White House said yesterday that Biden made a phone call last Friday with the former also leader of the Iraqi List Bloc Iraqi Premier Eyyad Allawi and House speaker Osama Al-Nujaifi.
Biden accentuated, during his two phone calls, the significance of finding solution to pending problems through a political process.
The White House statement revealed that ongoing consultations between all Iraqi political powers and parties pave the way for an anticipated national conference to be presided over by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. (IY)
