Abu Dhabi City Municipality has carried out a comprehensive inspection campaign targeting construction sites used to house labourers at Al Wathba South to ensure they are meeting government standards for safety and security, as well as for their aesthetic appearance.
The campaign also reviewed the compliance of residence supervisors with the delivery of appropriate accommodation, services, and a decent living to workers.
Launched on 8th October, and still ongoing, the campaign has resulted so far in the issuance of 66 offences relating to violations in workers accommodation in construction sites. Examples of violations include the lack of compliance with safety and security stipulations and cleaning and health requirements, among others.
Similar campaigns will continue to run with the aim to cover all workers' accommodation areas.
