The Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education in Dundee will hold a graduation ceremony on Friday for 47 female students from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Malaysia who have completed the annual Academic Training Programme in Multiculturalism and Leadership, ATP.
The graduation of the 23rd batch of the ATP programme will be held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance.
Students from various UAE's universities, Cairo University in Egypt and the University of Malaya in Malaysia, undertook a four-week study programme on Multiculturalism, Globalisation, Leadership and Management. The programme also included tours of major educational and cultural institutions and historic landmarks in the United Kingdom.
The graduation ceremony, to be held at the headquarters of the college, will be attended by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Mirza Al Sayegh, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the College and Bob Duncan, Dundee’s Lord Provost, along with officials of the participating universities and members of the Board of Trustees of Al-Maktoum College.
The Academic Training Programme in Multiculturalism and Leadership is a month-long academic programme held at the Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education in Dundee. Although it is primarily an academic programme, the schedule does include a number of cultural visits to attractions around Scotland and to Oxfordshire and London.
Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education, established in 2001, aims to bridge cultures and understanding between the Muslim and western world by focusing on education, research, debate and scientific understanding of Islam and the role of Muslims in the 21st century.
