The Board of Directors of the Interpol Foundation for a Safer World has decided to appoint Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi, the UAE's Ambassador to Lebanon, as the ambassador of the foundation at the Unity for Security Forum held in Abu Dhabi.
The forum is headed by Elias Murr, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation. and was attended by Jurgen Stock, Secretary-General of the Interpol Foundation.
Al Shamsi was appointed as the first ambassador for the Interpol Foundation because of his wide expertise at all levels. This sensitive and vital position was created to translate the true and strategic partnership between diplomatic and security work.
An Emirati diplomat was chosen to handle this mission because of the success achieved by the Emirati diplomacy under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
