The Arab League will hold an urgent session at a ministerial level on Wednesday to discuss the latest escalations in Al Quds, spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said Sunday.
Upon the request of Jordan, the Arab foreign ministers will meet to discuss the latest measures taken by Israel at Al Aqsa Mosque compound and Al Quds city.
Tensions in and around Al Quds began to soar after Israel imposed a number of restrictive measures on the entry of worshipers into the Al Aqsa Mosque compound after last week's armed clashes that left three Palestinians and two Israeli policemen dead.
The new restrictive measures include the installation of metal detectors at entry points to the mosque compound.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ordered the suspension of all official contact with Israel until it removes the metal detectors.
This week violence left three Palestinians and three Israelis dead and hundreds wounded.
