Manama - Arab Today

Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to Royal Guard Commander Brigadier His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa on his qualification for the IRONMAN World Championship, which will be held in Hawaii in October 2018.

HH Shaikh Nasser was able to qualify for the international event after winning first place in the IRONMAN Middle East Amateur Championship which was hosted by Bahrain from November 23 to 25.

The BDF Chief hailed the landmark achievement which, he said, honoured the Kingdom of Bahrain and crowns HH Shaikh Nasser’s strenuous training efforts.

He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, hailing royal keenness on developing sport in Bahrain, which earned Bahrain several championships in all arenas.

He commended all those in charge of the outstanding championship, hailing Bahrain’s successful organisation of the event.
