Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos visited Abu Dhabi’s Wahat Al Karama, the national landmark built to immortalise the sacrifices of the brave heroes of the UAE.
The Colombian President was received by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office (MFAO) in the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court. The visit began with the Honour of Guard performing a ceremony, after which President Santos laid a wreath before The Memorial, a monument made up of 31 massive aluminum panels leaning on one another in a symbol of solidarity between the people and the leadership of the UAE.
Accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Colombian President toured the site’s prominent areas, after which he concluded his visit by signing the visitors’ log and lauded the UAE’s heroes for their noble sacrifices and inspiring bravery in the face of adversity.
