The United Arab Emirates is taking part in the 68th International Astronautical Congress, IAC, 2017 in Adelaide, Australia, taking place from 25th to 29th September.
The UAE delegation to the congress is led by Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulla Humaid Belhoul AlFalasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Space Agency. The delegation also includes representatives of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre .
The congress will focus on the exploration of space, education and legislation in this area and will review future academic trends and industrial developments as well as a distinct platform for building and strengthening relationships between different actors.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Space Agency honoured Dr. Obaid Al Heri Salem Al Ketbi, UAE Ambassador to Australia, for his efforts in supporting the space sector.
IAC 2017 will gather all space players to discuss the advancement and progress of space in its various features, and in particular, this year will be targeting secure access to satellites that provide communications, timing and navigation services and remote sensing data.
