Cairo - Arab Today

The Egyptian Embassy in Tunis is closely following up the situation of a number of Egyptian fishermen held there for illegal fishing in Tunisia's territorial waters.

A delegate of the embassy already met with the 16-member crew of the Egyptian fishing boat in Sfax, said a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry on Saturday.

The fishermen said they did not resist the Tunisian authorities, the embassy delegate assured.

The embassy is working to deport the fishermen, the spokesman added.
