European leaders have expressed their appreciation for the humanitarian assistance provided in Yemen by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid (KSRelief).
At a meeting in Brussels, Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, KSRelief’s General Supervisor and an adviser to the royal court, briefed Christos Stylianides, the European Commissioner for humanitarian aid and crisis management, on “the great efforts exerted by the Kingdom through the center in extending humanitarian aid.”
Stylianides praised KSRelief for the assistance it had extended to many countries in the world, especially to Yemeni and Syrian refugees.
KSRelief has also helped the Rohingya in Bangladesh in close cooperation with the International Organization for Migration, sending 100 tons of food, shelter and basic relief items such as tents, sleeping mats, blankets and food baskets.
The aid was directed to an estimated 420,000 Rohingya who have fled violence in Rakhine state in in Myanmar since the end of August, and sought refuge in the Cox’s Bazar area of Bangladesh.
Wajid Khan, a British member of the European parliament and of its Arabian Peninsula and South Asia delegations, also expressed his appreciation for KSRelief.
Al-Rabiah also had meetings at the Belgian foreign ministry to discuss issues of common interest between Belgium and Saudi Arabia in supporting bilateral cooperation on humanitarian work.
