Imdaad set to showcase latest sustainable energy solutions at WETEX 2017
Dubai - Arab Today

Reaffirming its commitment to promoting sustainable development, Imdaad, a Dubai-based integrated facilities management solutions provider with a strong presence in the GCC, today announces its participation in the 19th edition of Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition, WETEX, being held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of DEWA, under the umbrella of Green Week.

Imdaad will showcase its line-up of innovative, efficient and sustainable energy solutions, including power monitoring and savings services, providing a glimpse into the latest energy, water, and environment green solutions and products, as well as the most advanced technologies and innovations in waste management and green buildings, among many others.

"We are excited to take part in WETEX 2017 as part of our continuous effort to build and nurture a sustainable ecosystem. As an integrated and sustainable management and maintenance services provider that is committed to enhancing operational efficiencies of physical assets, sustainability lies at the heart of everything we do at Imdaad, and we have long supported the efforts of the country to achieve its goals outlined in the UAE Vision 2021, which envisages building a green economy with a stronger reliance on clean energy. We have also aligned our practices with the vision of the Dubai Plan 2021, which aims to establish Dubai as a smart and sustainable city," said Jamal Abdulla Lootah, Group CEO of Imdaad.

Imdaad has been scaling up its energy management capability in order to help clients further reduce energy consumption, which is also in line with the Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030, which supports Dubai's vision of leadership in energy security and efficiency by achieving sustainable growth through effective waste management, green mobility and investment in clean energy and smart technologies.

The company has also taken more aggressive steps to adopt cutting-edge technology solutions based on the insights from a study it commissioned on the UAE’s facilities management industry with a special focus on energy management. The study identified the key growth drivers for the energy management industry such as the increased government support for energy efficiency and subsequent growing interest from the businesses in the country.

As part of the exhibition, Imdaad has also invited university students to participate in a number of 'edutainment' workshops organised by the company’s recently launched research and development department. The workshops will encourage students to innovate and use sustainable solutions and get them acquainted with the applied ideas related to the use of renewable power and the pilot projects established in the UAE as part of Imdaad’s efforts to utilise solar power.

Also on display at the Imdaad stand at WETEX will be a live streaming from Imtedaad, Imdaad’s intelligent platform for facilities management designed to provide real-time insights on the performance and trends of interconnected assets and ecosystems to provide recommendations for predictive maintenance and corrective actions, in its Jebel Ali field. Imtedaad is powered by the latest technologies in the Internet of Things, Big Data analytics, and Machine to Machine, or M2M, communications.

The company has also partnered with the renowned French visual artist Alexandre Dang to showcase his widely acclaimed creation of dancing solar flowers at the event as part of Imdaad’s efforts to make its renewable energy awareness campaigns more appealing to the public. The dancing solar flowers are powered by a solar cell that converts light into electricity.

French artist and clean energy specialist Dang, through his iconic work, attempts to promote the use of solar energy that will surpass the needs of humans. An estimated 1.2 billion people, 16 percent of the global population, have no access to electricity even though the sun provides several thousand times more energy to the earth than the total world energy consumption. Dang will help the students visiting the stand to explore the design journey of his artworks and will help them create their own dancing solar flowers.

Taking place under the theme ‘At the forefront of sustainability’, the three-day exhibition will be hosted from 23rd - 25th October 2017, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
