Kuwaiti Amir, HH Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received here today the heads of Shura, Representatives Councils and National Assemblies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), currently on a visit to the State of Kuwait to participate in the 11th Meeting of Chairpersons and Speakers of Shura, Representatives Councils and National Assemblies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held under his patronage on January 8-9.
Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla extended thanks to the Kuwaiti Amir, government and people for hosting the GCC parliamentary meeting, and for their role in strengthening GCC unity.
Al-Mulla praised the Kuwaiti Amir’s initiatives and keenness to strengthen unity and cohesion among GCC countries, stressing that HH Shaikh Sabah is the "Amir of the GCC march, and the Amir of humanitarian work".
The speaker lauded the joint efforts being exerted to consolidate the brotherly relations between the two countries at all levels, praising the unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and their efforts to enhance joint GCC action, along with other GCC leaders.
Al-Mulla conveyed greetings from HM King Hamad to the Kuwaiti Amir, and his appreciation of the key role he is playing to strengthen GCC unity.
The speaker extended thanks to Kuwait for its hospitality, warm welcome and organisation of GCC parliamentary meetings, as well as to the GCC Secretariat-General for its efforts in this regard.
