His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday, received a delegation from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, FCSA, led by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Chairperson of the FCSA.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was informed about the key projects and programmes being implemented by the FCSA on innovation and the best international practices to build Emirati human resources and direct future projects towards innovative competitiveness and statistics.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed congratulated the FCSA on winning the Continuous Improvement Trophy at the ideasUK in London for 2017. The trophy is awarded in recognition of an idea that raises general awareness and the importance of continuous improvement within the organisation.
Speaking about the ambitious spirit of the nation's youth towards excellence and leadership, Sheikh Mohamed said,'' We have no option but to bet on our quality and competencies.'' He further emphasised the importance of harnessing advanced technology to improve performance and services so as to reach a high scale of competitiveness and leadership.
''Our nation deserves more efforts and giving following the step of our fathers and forefathers who sacrificed during the toughest times. Our youth are capable of elevating the nation's stature internationally motivated by the love and dedication in the service and progress of the nation,'' he said, stressing the need to maximise efforts and build on what has been achieved.
He further underlined the need to create favourable conditions and provide resources for the future generations to continue raising the nation's flag high.
The FCSA participated in the ideasUK 31st International Conference held in London on 8th and 9th November. The FCSA won the Continuous Improvement Trophy out of 150 ideas submitted by many government and private entities from across the world.
The trophy was awarded to the FSCA's Ramadan Camp, a programme launched in 2011, where in-house teams work on vital national projects on competitiveness and statistics, sustainable development goals and then present recommendations to decision-makers. The idea has been well received by the British organisation as it promotes the culture of innovation and continuous improvement to deliver strategic objectives.
Founded in 1987, ideasUK works with organisations worldwide to introduce and enhance innovation in the workplace.
