The Egyptian tourism is now facing a political problem rather than a tourist marketing problem, said member of the House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committee Ambassador Mohamed el Orabi on Tuesday.
In statements to MENA, the former foreign minister explained that political decisions are steering and governing the tourist movement into Egypt.
The government should exert higher efforts for changing these political decisions to prompt decision makers in other countries to restore the tourist movement to Egypt.
Efforts exerted by the Tourism Ministry should be accompanied by other efforts by the civil society through highlighting the importance of the Egyptian tourist destination.
Also, he added, the negative image about Egypt that is promulgated by the enemies of the country should be amended.
