A UAE parliamentary division from the Federal National Council, FNC, will participate in the first executive meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, APA, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, starting tomorrow and continuing for two days.
The meeting, in which the UAE will be represented by the FNC parliamentary division, will be chaired by FNC members Dr. Saeed Abdullah Al Mutawa and Azza Sulaiman bin Sulaiman, and will include discussions on its agenda and related items, as well as the election of the members of its bureau and the Vice Chairman of its executive board.
The meeting will also review the decisions of the APA's permanent assembly committees related to human resources and financial regulations, and will calculate the contributions from the assembly's member states. A committee meeting held in May 2017 in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, presented several models on how to calculate these contributions, including how such payments should be equal.
Proposals on budget planning and amendments that were presented by the UAE parliamentary division during the previous meeting in Abu Dhabi will be discussed in the APA's upcoming meeting and all subsequent proposals will be considered in a bid to decide on the best model for calculating the assembly's budget.
