The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong condemnation and rejection of allegations about Qatar's involvement in the internal conflicts between the Libyan parties.
An official source at the Ministry underlined that the statement issued by a number of members of the Libyan Parliament about the military escalation in the Libyan oil ports is completely and absolutely baseless and contained misleading allegations that are contrary to the fundamentals and the policy of the State of Qatar towards the brotherly Libyan state and all countries of the world.
The source affirmed, in a press statement, that these claims are rejected and surprising, and not helping to consolidate the fraternal ties and relations between the sisterly countries. "Some parties are hindering attempts to resolve the Libyan crisis through peaceful means for realizing military gains. It is unacceptable that Qatar bears the results of this behavior which is contrary to the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people," the source added.
The State of Qatar was at the forefront of countries that have supported the Libyan people since the outbreak of the revolution in 2011. Qatar also supported outputs of the political agreement between the parties to the conflict in Libya, the source underlined.
The State of Qatar will remain committed to its positions in support of the brotherly Libyan people, stemming from the links of brotherhood, historic ties and common destiny, the source concluded
