Sharjah Police launches a project to explore future of security situation in 2030
Sharjah - Arab Today

The Sharjah Police General Command has launched a project to look into the future of the security situation in 2030, which was prepared by the Sharjah Police Research Centre in co-operation with a number of government agencies and over 25 civil society organisations.

The project will be implemented through the exploration of anticipated problems, capabilities, resources and potentials, and readiness to confront them. It will also see the use of scientific and technical data to transform them into materials and energies, and the actual development of possible options. It will help to provide a knowledge base, which decision makers can use to define their political, social and economic choices, support creativity and innovation, and improve decision-making and its implications.

Brigadier General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police, said, "The launch of the project comes in response to the vision of our wise leadership and the directions taken by the country to prepare for the future by investing opportunities and early confronting and analysing challenges as well as constantly striving to unify efforts and mobilise energies towards government action in a clear framework that makes it easier for all to deal with the future within specific tracks and a clear way of working.

"This is why we, at the Sharjah Police General Headquarters, have been working continuously to look into the future of the security situation in the emirate in 2030 and to chart the potential scenarios after looking at the future of five other areas related to the security field with those concerned in the emirate and beyond."

Dr. Khaled Hamad Al Hammadi, Director of the Sharjah Police Research Centre, explained that the project was planned within the framework of the fourth-generation system of government excellence, which is the main reference to learn the level of the government’s performance in the country.
