The Ship for World Youth Global Assembly is set to begin tomorrow, Sunday 5th November 2017 at Etihad Museum.
With 150 participants from 25 countries, the Global Assembly aims to foster cultural understanding, enhance communication skills among diverse cultures and create an international platform for youth to promote cross-cultural cooperation and understanding allowing those youth to develop common perspectives about many of the pressing issues that require innovative solutions, in addition to highlighting the UAE government's role in supporting and empowering youth. The Global Assembly participants are ex-participants of Ship for World Youth Programme.
The first day of the official programme of the Global Assembly will include a visit to the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood and getting an Abra across the creek as a real traditional experience. The excitement continue as the participants take a journey into the past through a visit to the Spice Souk in Deira. The programme also will include a wide-range of folklore arts performed by the participating folk arts bands in addition to learning about historical handcrafts during the official opening ceremony.
The official opening ceremony programme consists of welcoming speech from the organising committee and a speech from the Cabinet Office of Japan Government representative, to highlight the importance of the Ship for World Youth Global Assembly and its key role in empowering youth as a key platform for gathering elite world youth, in the UAE for the first time, in a welcoming environment that's fully equipped to host this international unique events.
The opening ceremony will feature excerpts of short videos about the assembly's programme and activities as well as honoring the strategic partners and sponsors. The details of the Ship for World Youth Global Assembly were announced earlier in a press conference held at Dubai Museum on 16th October 2017.
An overview of the history of the Global Assembly, it key milestones as well as its theme and slogan was presented. The conference also revealed the official timetable and programme of events accompanying the assembly, hosted by the UAE, to promote a sustainable exchange of experiences and establish an open and constructive dialogue among youth leaders to face contemporary challenges.
