Smart Dubai has launched the state-of-the-art "Fajwa" system in partnership with the Dubai Police to help decision-makers at the police department process candidates’ data to find the most suitable employees.

The launch was announced during a press conference held on Tuesday at the Smart Dubai pavilion at the GITEX Technology Week 2017, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 8th to 12th October. Dr. Aisha bint Butti bin Bishr, Director-General of the Smart Dubai Office, attended the conference along with Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Aisha said, "The ‘Fajwa’ system embodies the values of our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who always urged officials to put people first. These principles live on today with President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who continues to place people at the heart of all policies and strategies, while His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, asserts that spreading happiness is the main objective of the UAE government.

"We look at technology as a means to complement and enhance human capabilities, enabling officials in all government institutions to make sound decisions. This system is intended to help the Dubai Police identify the most talented, competent and compatible candidates before investing in their talent and training."

On a similar note, Gen. Al Marri, said, "The ground-breaking ‘Fajwa’ system we launched today in collaboration with Smart Dubai is a milestone in the smart human resources management sector. It heeds the calls of the UAE’s wise leadership to continuously develop and empower the national workforce, which, in turn, serves to upgrade our performance as one of the most advanced police departments not only in the region but also in the world.

"‘Fajwa’ is a next-generation smart decision-making tool that employs the very latest technologies. The system will improve our recruitment process and help fill vacant positions with the most qualified individuals that are not only most suitable for the position but also the most compatible with the Dubai Police’s overarching strategy."

He went on to confirm that the system will be implemented across the entire recruitment process, as well as for performance evaluation to ensure that the police department consistently measures up to the government excellence standards of the emirate of Dubai.

"The success of any organisation depends on its investment in human resources, whereby it places the right people in the right places. With that in mind, we have joined forces with the Dubai Police to support the department’s efforts as they assemble their team through this intelligent system, analysing employee data and information to find the most suitable people for a position, based purely on clear professional standards," said Wesam Lootah, CEO of the Smart Dubai Government Establishment.
