Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed Mohammed Al-Maraj has been named the Middle East Central Bank Governor of the Year award for 2018 by The US Banker, an offshoot of the Financial Times.
Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla sent a cable of congratulations to Al-Maraj, hailing the directives of the wise leadership and the Government’s policy which build a solid banking base and turned Bahrain to a financial hub in the region.
The Banker has also acknowledged the business-friendly and developed environment for financial services and stringent financial system in the region.
The speaker highlighted Bahrain’s economic growth and the expanding technology-based financial services, citing the launch of the FinTech system in June 2017.
Al-Mullah reiterated parliamentary unwavering support to the economic and investment sectors in Bahrain and the national development strides, despite current regional situation.
