At its meeting held on Wednesday, the State Council Office expressed its satisfaction on His Majesty the Sultan’s approval of the philosophy of education in the Sultanate.
It is to be a reference for developing educational policies and guiding towards constant development of various stages and types of education.
The State Council Office held on Wednesday its 9th meeting of the 2nd annual sitting of the 6th term under the chair of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council.
The Office also discussed a proposal presented by the Culture, Media and Tourism Committee, the Education and Research Committee and the Legal Committee.
The Office hosted Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Meshaikhi, Head of Culture, Media and Tourism Committee and Mohammed bin Hamad Al Masroori, Rapporteur of the Committee to discuss with them the Committee’s proposal on studying the status of public, national and private libraries and their community role.
Further, the Committee also discussed a proposal on a study about enhancing the role of education in supporting knowledge based economy that presented by the Education and Research Committee, as well as a proposal on linguistic policies in the Sultanate; their status, challenges and mechanisms for developing and activating them.
The Office also touched on a proposal to discuss the draft budget of the Council for 2018 among other topics.
