Assistant of the President of the Republic and Deputy Chairman of the National Congress, Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, has expressed appreciation of the Sudanese leadership and people of the reconciliation reached by the Palestinian parties and the ongoing efforts to implement the accord deal which was reached between the Palestinian Fatah and Hamas movements.
This came when Engineer Hamid received in his office Monday the visiting envoy of the Palestinian President and member of the central bureau of Fatah movement, Azzam Al-Ahmad, who is holding a message from the Palestinian President to the President of the Republic.
Hamid expressed his hope that the Palestinian reconciliation agreement will mark the end to the division which has harmed the Palestinian cause.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Arab Secretariat at the External Relations Sector of the National Congress, Izz-Eddin Abu-Jamal.
In a press statement after the meeting, Azzam Al-Ahmad said that he briefed the Assistant of the President on conditions of the Palestinian people and the developments in the Palestinian question, top of them are practical steps for implementing the reconciliation agreement and ending the division.
He affirmed the Palestinian people's steadfastness in confronting the Israeli occupation and its aggressive policies.
He praised the efforts of the Sudanese people in supporting the Palestinian people.
