H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has stressed the importance of culture as the basis for building societies.
He made his remarks during his visit to the events of the World Cultural Heritage Weeks at the Sharjah Centre for Heritage Activities in Bait Al Gharbi in Sharjah. The Arab Republic of Egypt is participating in the event as a guest of honour for this month.
The Ruler of Sharjah toured the venue and was briefed on the displayed graphic paintings, which embodies the artistic and cultural life and heritage of the Arab Republic of Egypt and listened to an explanation about the showcased tools and their uses in the ancient Egyptian heritage.
During his visit, Sheikh Sultan was accompanied by Abdul Aziz Al- Muslim, Chairman of Sharjah Institute of Heritage, Mohammed Obaid Al Za'abi, Chairman of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality and Dr. Shakir Abdul Hamid, former Egyptian Minister of Culture along with a number of senior officials.
