Trade between the two countries has witnessed a relative improvement compared to previous years, as the volume of trade reached about 193,2 million dinars during the first quarter of 2015, with an increase of 25 percent compared to the same period of 2014.

Essebsi arrived in Cairo on Sunday on a two-day visit to Egypt for talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on a set of Arab and regional issues of common interest.

Talks are expected to cover the situation in Libya, Syria, Yemen as well as efforts exerted to combat terrorism which has become an escalating threat for both countries.

The two leaders will also discuss the outcome of the Joint Higher Committee meeting held in Tunisia in September.
