Tunisian Parliament Speaker Mohamed Al Nasser on Monday called for an extraordinary meeting for heads of the parliamentary blocs and the parliamentary office to assess the situation in the wake of a terrorist attack on a military barrack in Ben Gardan border city, Mosaic Radio reported.
The parliamentary speaker said the meeting will discuss taking some decisions in view of the parliament's authority to face terrorist operations carried out across the borders.
Meanwhile, hospitals in Ben Gardan urged citizens to donate blood to help the treatment of Tunisian army personnel who were injured at dawn Monday in the attack at security troops.
At least 10 militants and five civilians have been killed as Islamic extremists attacked security posts in the Tunisian town close to the Libyan border.
