Following directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received UAE Minister of Energy Suhail Al Mazroui and UAE Electricity and Water Authority Director General Mohammed Mohammed Saleh. UAE Ambassador to Bahrain Abdel Redha Al-Khoury and other officials accompanied them.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in electricity, water and sustainable energy areas as well as the exchange of expertise and experience between them, particularly in the area desalination.
The UAE side made a presentation on the plans and projects that would improve the sector and to sustain the provision of electricity and water services in the light of demographic, economic and industrial growth.
Dr. Mirza said that Bahrain is interested in the latest projects and technologies in the electricity, water and sustainable energy sectors, especially the UAE’s successful experiences and projects. He said the UAE Ministry of energy is one of the most striking examples of this and thanked the visiting minister for the visit.
The UAE side was briefed on Bahrain’s development plans and projects for the electricity and water sector. The UAE officials praised Bahrain’s levels of excellence in the field. Officials of both sides expressed their willingness to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the electricity, water and sustainable energy sectors and pledged to intensify field visits to activate the benefit from common experiences and areas of cooperation.
Earlier, the UAE minister and his delegation was received at the Bahrain International Airport by Dr. Mirza, the Electricity and Water Authority Executive Vice President of Distribution and Customer Services Adnan Fakhro and the UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, among others.
