Israeli forces Wednesday opened fire at Palestinian farmers and shepherds along the borderline area to the east of Gaza city, as well as at fishermen sailing within Gaza waters to the south of the Strip, sources said.
Israeli forces stationed at military watchtowers along the borders with Israel fired an artillery shell toward agricultural lands along the borderline area to the east of al-Zatoun neighborhood. Forces also opened fire at Palestinian farmers and shepherds while they were tending to their land situated to the east of al-Shejaiya neighborhood, forcing them to leave the area. No injuries were reported.
In the meantime, Israel naval boats opened a barrage of machine gunfire at Palestinian fishermen sailing within Gaza waters offshore al-Sudaniyeh area to the northwest of Gaza city. No injuries were reported among the farmers who fled the scene for fear of being detained, injured, or killed.
The navy also attacked fishermen sailing within Gaza waters offshore Khan Younis city, in the southern Gaza Strip, causing financial damages to a number of boats. No injuries were reported.
Israeli army and navy routinely open fire at Palestinian fishermen and farmlands along the Gaza border in a blatant violation of a ceasefire deal reached between Israel and the Palestinian factions in Gaza on August 26, 2014 following 51 days of bloody aggression on the Strip.
