At least eight people died and another 12 are injured after a trailer truck and bus collided near the Qarn Al Alam Triangle in Oman.
Out of the eight dead, six are Yemeni nationals while two are from the United Arab Emirates, according to a Nizwa Hospital spokesperson.
"Eight have died, and 12 are injured. Out of the 12 injured, four are on level red (critical), and eight are on level yellow (moderate to severe injuries), and 14 have been discharged.
"The bus was travelling from the UAE to Yemen, and most of the people on board were Yemeni who were travelling to their country to visit their relatives," an official from the Nizwa Hospital said.
"The accident happened at around 6.30pm last evening and the victims were brought to the hospital after 8pm," the official added.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has said that they have activated their emergency response system in the Al Wusta and Al Dhakhiliyah governorates, and said that a hospital in Haima had called for extra medical staff to help deal with the accident.
