Defender of Egypt’s Zamalek football team Islam Jamal
Cairo - Al Khateeb Gamal

Defender of Egypt’s Zamalek football team Islam Jamal said that Zamalek’s officials were keen to contact with him during the latest hours to return him to the team after the decision taken by the former coach to abandon him.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that he received a phone call from Zamalek’s board member Ahmed Mortada, calling him for returning to the team and to participate in the current camp to prepare for the coming matches.
He stressed that he was informed that the board member told him that they refused the request submitted by the former coach to abandon him, saying that they expressed their aspiration to keep him with the team.
He added that he did not take the final decision whether to remain with the team or not, saying that he waits until the end of the coming match of the Egyptian Cup’s Semifinal against Al Masry.
He added that he took his decision to leave the team due to the injustice of the team’s coach, saying that he received a number of offers from a number of Egyptian teams, while he did not decide whether to join any of them will turn to other teams outside Egypt.
He stressed that he was keen to exert his efforts during trainings, while the coach did not give him any opportunity to participate in the matches of the Egyptian Premier League, denying that he took any escalating steps against the coach.
He stressed that he was aspiring to continue with the team during the coming season, while the approach adopted against him by the coach pushed him to take the decision to leave the team during the current critical period.
