Former player of Wydad Casablanca Abdel Haq Al Areef expressed his pleasure for leaving the prison and returning to his family, after years of leaving them. He stressed his appreciation to the Moroccan Football Royal League Fawzy Lakja for the increasing efforts she exerted to save him, saying that a large number of Moroccan football officials expressed their solidarity with him.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, “His case was finally settled after some merchants of Darb Ghalef relinquished their dues.” He stressed that his experience in prison was enriching, stressing his appreciation to the role performed by the football officials to support him.
He stressed that those men provided support for me during my existence in prison, saying that he will not forget their favor, as they helped him to remain beside his mother.
