Iran's Esteghlal Khuzestan beat Saudi Arabia's Al Fateh 1-0 here on Monday in Group B of the 2017 AFC Champions League, Tasnim news agency reported. Abolfazl Alaei found the back of the net with a header in the 80th minute to ensure the Iranian team took all three points in opener of the matches. Esteghlal Khuzestan were dominant much of the time but could not find the breakthrough until 10 minutes from time when the defender Alaei rose highest to nod home Peyman Shirzadi's in-swinging corner at the back post. Al Fateh, which are on their second appearance in the competition after 2014, witnessed their winless run in the AFC Champions League stretch to seven games after failing to pick up a victory in their inaugural campaign.
