HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities has approved the prizes allocated for the participants and spectators of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls. His Highness instructed the organising committee of the league to include a total of BD20, 000 cash prizes divided among the first three spots winning teams and the best players in each match of the league, in addition to a brand new car that will be awarded to a lucky spectator in the final match of the league.

This was announced by members of the organising committee in a press conference held at the venue of the league, Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town. The officials announced several key figures of the league during the conference.

Omar Abdulaziz Bukamal the Head of the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Member of the Supreme Organising Committee explained that the first place winners of the youth centres and unregistered clubs tournament will be awarded with trophies, golden medals and BD4, 000 cash, while the second and third place winners will be given BD2, 000 and BD1, 500 respectively.

Bukamal also announced that BD1, 000, BD700 and BD500 will be given to the first three winners in the competitions of people with disabilities and the girls tournament each.

Bukamal explained that a draw will be held on a brand new car that will be awarded to one lucky spectator of the final match of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League, which is scheduled to be held on the 14thof September.

The announced prizes come in addition to the BD100 cash prize given to the best player in each game held since the beginning of the league and the BD50 prize of the weekly competition on Instagram.

Bukamal also said more than 50 prominent personalities in the sports, political, commercial and other fields visited Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League during the past month.

Bukamal expressed his appreciation to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for patronising the league and granting the youth of the Kingdom of Bahrain the opportunity to improve their talents and skills and meet and compete in a friendly atmosphere. He also thanked the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, spearheaded by H.E Minister Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder.

Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League is jointly organised for the fifth consecutive year by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, under the slogan #Generations_Meeting and comes as part of the initiative of His Highness. Launched on July 24, the league continues to September 14 and includes three different tournaments and 59 teams that represent youth centres, local unregistered clubs, people with disabilities and girls' teams for the first time this year.

On his part, Ali Al-Arabi , Director of Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League announced that 131 matches were held since the launch of the league on July 24, adding that 16 matches are remaining in the final rounds of the league.

He said 866 goals were scored, and 176 yellow cards and 28 red cards were given to players so far.

Director of Youth Centres at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs Nawar Al-Mutawwa hailed the humanitarian and sports initiatives of His Highness and said they reflect the directives of the Wise Leadership to embrace the youth in the frame of love, unity and honest competition.

He affirmed in the conference that the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, headed by H.E Minister Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder, is keen on supporting such events that aim at empowering the youth and developing their talents and skills.
