South Africa's Ambassador to Egypt V W Mavimbela congratulated Egypt for qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
He said the Egyptian team is the best to represent Africa in the World Cup.
The diplomat made the remark during a visit to Aswan University on Monday.
During a meeting with the diplomat, Aswan University President Ahmed Ghallab underlined the importance of cooperation between Aswan University and South African universities in various domains.
Mavimbela stressed that several meetings would be held in the future to review cooperation mechanisms between Aswan University and African universities.
Ghallab presented the university's plaque as a gift to the diplomat who also gave Ghallab a book written by late African leader Nelson Mandela.
