Fourteen UN peacekeepers have been killed in clashes in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a UN official told AFP on Friday.
At least 40 more peacekeepers were injured in the fighting, added the official, who was speaking on condition of anonymity and did not specify the nature of the clashes or when they took place.

Dissident FARC rebels in Colombia have released unharmed a UN official whom they kidnapped in May, the international body said on Wednesday.
