Egyptian tour guide Eman Mahmoud stressed the importance of religious tourism in the world and Middle East, saying that it represents over 50 percent of the world tourism whether in the Arab countries or Europe.
She added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that Saudi Arabia dominates the religious tourism in the Middle East because of the Muslim holy places, including Kaaba and the Holy Prophet's Mosque. She added that Vatican also achieves high profits from the increasing visits from guests from all over Europe during the year.
She added that Egypt has a large number of Islamic monuments and holy shrines that attract Muslims from all over the world. She underlined India’s position in the religious tourism, as it has a large number of temples attracting the tourists from the different countries of the world.
