Turkey's ambassador to Bahrain Hatun Demirer said that she was looking forward to more Bahrainis visiting Turkey and more Turkish citizens coming to Bahrain as tourism figures have indicated a steady increase in the numbers of visitors from and to both countries.
"Bahrainis who travelled to Turkey reached 41,505 in 2016, up from 32,476 in 2015, while the number of the Turkish citizens visiting Bahrain has also increased from 27,137 in 2015 to 34,292 in 2016," she said.
"Relations between Turkey and Bahrain are developing and strengthening in all fields. Mutual tourism is one of the most dynamic sectors in our bilateral relations. As the Turkish Embassy in Manama, we are very happy to observe that Turkey is a main tourism destination and a holiday preferences for our Bahraini sisters and brothers. The number of Bahrainis visiting Turkey has continued its steady increase in 2016 just like the previous years."
Demirer said that Istanbul and Turkey boast of outstanding features and potential for highly memorable visits.
"I advise everyone to closely follow and seize the opportunity of visiting Istanbul through the promotions of Turkish Airlines, Gulf Air and Pegasus Airlines which have direct flights between Manama and Istanbul," she said.
"We are now at the beginning of the summer season in Turkey. Soon millions of tulips will blossom out all around Istanbul. The period of April and May is perfect timing for those who want a special spring holiday in the uniquely attractive city of Istanbul and beyond."
