The Saudi Arabian Airlines has not so far been able to schedule flights to transport Qatari pilgrims from Hamad International Airport in Doha due to lack of permission from Qatari authorities. "The Qatari authorities have not allowed Saudi Arabian Airlines' planes to land despite days having passed since the request began", said Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines Saleh Al-Jasser.
The Saudi national carrier had asked the Doha authorities for permission for their trips to transport Qatari pilgrims, which were scheduled following directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The flights were scheduled following a mediation conducted by Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani.
