An EgyptAir delegation left here on Monday for New York to receive the eighth plane of Boeing B737-800 NG airplane from the 737 Max family as part of a deal that included the purchase of nine planes to renovate the national air carrier's fleet.
The purchase of nine new planes comes as part of EgyptAir's wide-scale plane to revamp the company's fleet.
The EgyptAir delegation includes officials from maintenance sectors, cabin crew, lawyers, financial administration and contracting from the company’s planning sectors and others.
Final reviews and an experimental voyage will be carried out to conclude the handover measures so the planes can take off over the coming few days with the delegation on board from Seattle to join the EgyptAir fleet.
The plane will become the 68th airplane in the six-year-old fleet, after a replacement and renewal plan was drawn.
