Jihad el-Khazen

I try not to be provoked by political news. I usually succeed, but sometimes I fail. Today, I am writing to admit that I have failed to control my temper. I counted to ten, before I decided to tackle a topic that I try often to avoid, but the topic itself does not accept to avoid me. The cover story of Time magazine’s edition dated August 13 was “The Battle for Jerusalem” followed in smaller print by “How the Holy City Became the Front Line in the Struggle over Israel’s Jewish Identity”. Time is one of the most prestigious magazines in the world. This time, however, its cover was despicably Zionist. Behind the printed letters on the cover, there was a picture of an orthodox Jew in traditional black robes, while the story within the magazine itself occupied four pages, after two opposing pages of bearded religious Jews and children. Orthodox Jews are living in a world of religious myths that the Palestinians have paid the price for. I had decided to ignore the story because it coincided with Ramadan. While the Jews may have an identity wherever they want, and I will not argue with them here, they certainly have no identity in Jerusalem. In this holy city, they were present like many others, yes, but their prophets never really existed, and the same goes for their alleged kingdoms. I am speaking here as a student of history, not theology, and I also know for a fact that they have no traces whatsoever in Egypt, or kingdoms in Palestine or elsewhere. Instead, they were only tribes and clans, like other groups of people. Perhaps I would not have returned to the Time cover story were it not for the fact that the New York Times, also one of the most prestigious newspapers in the world, had chosen to run a report on Danny Dayan, leader of the settler movement in occupied Palestine, whom the report called worldly and pragmatic, as if he is a normal person. Dayan and all settlers are racist neo-Nazi terrorists and murderers in the last remaining South African-like apartheid state in the world. They are all of Khazari roots who have no right to be anywhere in Palestine. This fascist is an Argentinian Jew who immigrated to Palestine in 1971. He is closely related to Moshe Dayan, and is an opponent of the two-state solution who believes that the Palestinians’ future is in Jordan, perhaps at the expense of the monarchy there. This is not going to happen. Dayan can dream, but what is more likely is that if the Israeli terrorism continues unabated, then there would be a terrorist attack using WMDs in response. Personally, I condemn all terrorists, and do not want anyone to be killed, and only ask for those who colonized Palestine to return to whence they came. Once again, I would have perhaps overlooked the provocation in the above, were it not for two more news stories published on August 22: In Maariv, Nadav Haetzni wrote attacking the United Nations. He said that Israel is a member of a club that does not want it, and spoke about Iran’s calls for Israel to be wiped out, which were backed by other UN members. He also complained that the club had members that harm “our good name and legitimacy”. Israel’s name is in the gutter, and it has no legitimacy whatsoever. Israel is a terrorist state, and this writer, nay every Israeli like him, is living an illusion, or is in denial. Indeed, the bottom line of the article is that the whole world is wrong, and the state of organized crime is right. In an equal measure of chutzpah as the attacks by these neo-Nazis against the United Nations, there was a campaign on a website published on the same day against Scandinavian countries, in an article entitled “Scandinavia: The Liberal anti-Semitic Sanctuary”. Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark are exemplary models of governance for the whole world. The closer a regime is to them the more democratic and humane it is, and the further it is away from them the more criminal and racist it is, such as Israel. The reason the author of the article is angry is that the number of Jews in Malmo has fallen, prompting a protest in their defense. In 2010, a number of Jews marched there in support of Israel, and were assaulted as a result by other residents that the Mayor Ilmar Reepalu supported, because the protesters had not distanced themselves from Israel and Zionism. I share the mayor’s opinion, and salute his courage, and add that Scandinavian countries are powerhouses of ethics while Israel is a mongrel and a despicable state. In addition to all the above, there has been another news story that has continued for weeks now. In Benjamin Netanyahu’s Israel, which is nothing but a criminal gang, Jewish children tried to lynch a Palestinian child in his city of Jerusalem. One of these children confessed to being involved, and said, “He is an Arab […]. If it was up to me, I’d have murdered him”. This is the talk of an ignorant boy, and the real suspect is Netanyahu and the teenager’s parents. I read the above in Israeli newspapers, where I also read many condemnations by Jews for what had happened. Indeed, the majority of Jews is liberal and centrist, and the likes of Netanyahu are a minority, even if they are in power. --- The views expressed by the author do not necessarily represent or reflect the editorial policy of Arabstoday.
