the uae’s 47th national day

Abdullah Al-Otaibi

United Arab Emirates, the young and prosperous country, just celebrated its 47th National Day. The state was established by the Arabs’ wise man Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and was the dream and ambition of his heart and mind.

He worked hard toward unifying it and improving the lot of its citizenry and the youth and future generations. The rulers of the six Emirates shared his dream and ambitions and the state thus become rich and powerful, with a glorious history, brilliant present and a promising future.

The sons have followed on the steps of the leader and other founders. His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and their brethren rulers continued to build and realize the hopes and aspirations of the citizens and future generations. They have even advanced the vision to the UAE’s centenary in 2071.

The UAE celebrated its 47th anniversary during the Year of Zayed, the year when the UAE decided to celebrate its great Founder, his legacy, achievements and visions and to show the new generations how their parents and grandparents worked hard toward establishing a united and strong state with a powerful politics, economy, culture, and community and above all citizens in all fields — be it in education, security, health and stability.s

The Emirati passport has become among the strongest passports internationally. The UAE’s military status has become the talk of the world and the region. The UAE, with its powerful military and its unprecedented alliance with Saudi Arabia, is engaged in a tough war in Yemen against the Iranian regime’s Houthi militia, and it has become a political power that has its influence at the regional and international levels.

The UAE leadership has been aware of one of the most dangerous problems that threaten the world, i.e. terrorism. This awareness was represented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s vision, who believes that terrorism cannot be eliminated in a last minute chase.

One has to revert to the main sources and roots of terrorism and extremism and which are groups of political Islam, primarily the Muslim Brotherhood, its branches and its international organization. This has been a defining moment in history.

Investment initiative
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke at the Future Investment Initiative conference about the historic role of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and his remarkable development model that he started in the 1990s and which became a role model for the region.

This is the testimony of someone who is aware and dreams for more for his country and for Gulf countries, the Arab countries and the regional countries in general. The successful leader praises successful experiments and builds upon them.

Developing education was at the center of the concerns of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed. His fight in reforming and developing education so it is unique at the international level was a glorious and well deserved fight. Without raising a distinguished generation on all levels and preparing to carry the banner and resume the path, countries cannot prosper and man cannot make history.

Sheikh Zayed’s vision was based on tolerance which greatly distinguished the Emirati experience. In the UAE, there are many religions, many nationalities, different sects and races, but they all coexist with each other. All UAE residents feel that they are partners in the vision and the dream.

The UAE has a successful economy, and it is a political and military power with amazing growth in culture and media. There is special attention for the country’s glorious history and there are major national programs for inculcating good ethics and values.

The subject of ethics is being taught in public schools. The country also has good diplomatic relations with the majority of countries around the world. All this is led by the ideas of its leaders and the efforts of the youth. In the end, the friendly states, on top of which the strongest ally, Saudi Arabia, celebrate the UAE on all levels.
