HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, hailed the role played by Emirati women in the country's drive to step up its diplomatic efforts.
Shaikh Abdullah made his remarks on Wednesday while meeting a group of the ministry's female employees to mark International Women's Day, UAE News Agency (WAM) reported.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of the Mother of the Emirates, HH Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and her appreciation for the achievements of Emirati women in the diplomatic arena.
He also thanked the women for their hard work and contribution towards realising the UAE government's vision and objectives, both domestically and internationally.
"The International Women's Day is a day to salute the efforts and achievements of women and their contribution to serving the Emirati community. Women are the key partners in the drive for positive change, progress and development in the UAE," he added.
