Prince Salman, who was born in Dhahran in 1976, holds a bachelor degree in military sciences. He has attended a number of courses in security and intelligence matters. He began his career as a lieutenant in royal air defense force before moving to Washington to work in the military attaché at the Saudi Embassy. The Council of Ministers appointed him as minister plenipotentiary at the Foreign Ministry six years ago.
