A total of 1.42 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 10 billion Singapore dollars (901.6 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers 270 to 134, while 560 others finished unchanged. The STI index lost 0.36 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 3, 038.37 on Wednesday.
